Laurel’s Crown Cheese is crafted using the organic, grass fed, jersey milk of Pure Éire Dairy in Othello, Washington. Spent a couple of days in Petaluma - visiting cheese operations. Thrilled beyond belief I was able to hit the west coast "Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds - Petaluma Seed Bank" I have ordered from Baker Creek Missouri for many years.

Made a stop at Joe Matos Cheese out in the countryside of Santa Rosa and Nicasio Valley. Both of these creameries made me feel like I was home - small, farmstead. Amazing cheese! Nicasio is a fellow 2017 Good Food Awards winner.

Beautiful countryside, very green here right now. Having suffered prolonged drought, Northern CA has definitely seen it share of rain. A lot of rain, creating slides and flooding everywhere - hopefully things will begin to even out soon. Making the run from Eureka to Eugene today but before leaving, I HAVE to visit Cypress Grove, home of the famous Humboldt Fog goat cheese.

  1. Well, we didn’t make the end of 2013 deadline but hope to be in production in Othello by early spring – We hope you have the opportunity to keep of with the blog on this site with the regular updates about construction!
